BACKGROUND

Uganda Women Concern Ministry is an indigenous Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) established in 1991, registration number 9514/552 and is incorporated in the Republic of Uganda as a company with limited liability- Registration number 41356 of 1999. It is located 5 miles on Mbale-Tororo Road, Bungokho Sub-County, Mbale District, Eastern Uganda

VISION

A Society where women, men and children have equal opportunities to lead a dignified God-fearing life.

To holistically support women, children and people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWAs) to realise their potential and have control over their lives in order to eradicate poverty through capacity building, Christian faith based work and creating an enabling environment.

GOAL

To empower women, men and children to sustainably contribute to and participate in the process of development.

OBJECTIVES

To increase the understanding of women, children and people living with HIV/AIDS about their problems, rights, responsibilities and abilities so that they can take action to improve their situation.
To improve the capacity of women, children and their families to address their needs and to execute their rights in a sustainable way.
To contribute towards influencing policies, structures and attitudes that oppress women, children and people living with HIV/AIDS to create an enabling environment for them to lead fulfilled life.
Build the capacity of children and their families to undertake their education and physio-social needs.
